Fine Jewelry

At Argo & Lehne, we buy a variety of jewelry. We consider the metal, stones, designer, condition and quality. We ask a few questions about the pieces while we inspect them, such as “Why are you selling this?”  “Who owned it?”

Coins and Currency

We purchase a wide variety, such as old United States currency, foreign currency, numismatic and bullion coins. While we accept most coins, our strong suit is dimes, quarters and half dollars from the mid-1900’s.

Gold

We purchase necklaces, bracelets, rings, etc. of any karat, purity or condition, including white and rose gold and dental gold. We do not buy gold-filled or gold plated items.

Diamonds

We buy natural diamonds, loose or mounted, of any cut, color, clarity and carat. We have graduate gemologists and accredited jewelry professionals to identify each gem for cut, color, clarity and carat. We are equipped with the proper instruments to test a diamond’s authenticity, measurements and characteristics.

Sterling Silver

We buy pure silver (‘999’), sterling silver (‘sterling’ or ‘925’), coin silver (‘coin’, ‘pure coin’ or ‘800’). We do not buy silver plate which has an outside layer of sterling, but nickel or base metal underneath. Without hallmarks (‘sterling’ or ‘925’) it is unlikely hollowware or flatware is sterling . Silver plate is hard and does not bend or tarnish in the same way as sterling or coin silver.

Watches

We buy many timepieces, such as Rolex, Breitling, Patek, etc. (We are not interested in non-branded, non-gold, non-precious metal generic watches.)

Typically Not For Us

China, Crystal and Glassware

With changing times, fewer and fewer people are entertaining. Younger generations aren’t registering for these types of items when getting married and prefer an easier method of cleaning with the ability to put everything into the dishwasher. The best way to resell these items would be on consignment at your local antique shop or through Replacements.com.

Silver Plate

Although it is commonly mistaken for sterling silver, we do not buy silver plate. Silver plate items have an outside layer of sterling silver, but base metal underneath. To tell whether the item you have is plated, check for a sterling hallmark.
