Art at Argo’s presents “Flourish” by artist Sarah Peters

What better time than Valentine’s Day to begin our new and rose inspired exhibit, “Flourish”?! We couldn’t be more proud of our very own, Design Liaison & Sales Associate, Sarah Peters. Sarah began working at Argo & Lehne in May of last year. She was a great fit with her gentle and kind nature matched with her love of fashion and jewelry. It’s no surprise she was drawn to many of our one of a kind pieces and our inclination for the arts. As an artist herself and a Upper Arlington resident she was drawn to the idea of one day having her own Art at Argo’s show. Well, in the past month or so we convinced her that the time was right!

Sarah’s Style

The exhibits name, “Flourish”, derived from the blooms that inspired her paintings from two particular public gardens, Columbus’s Park of Roses and Portland, Oregon’s International Rose Test Garden as well as her own personal growth in her art. This exhibit includes 8 acrylic paintings of roses. Sarah’s prints are feminine and fashion forward with bold brush strokes and vivid florals. When you view her artwork you can really see how the painting would completely set the mood of the room in which it was placed. Some may say the final touch but I believe it is more the focal point and all the rest of the decor just accent pieces. Her work emanates positivity and cheerfulness while being sophisticated and mature.

“My work is inspired by nature, architecture, fashion and color. I still love leafing through fashion magazines and focusing on the different colors for the different seasons. The past two years have been difficult on us all and I hope my work brings joy, an appreciation for warmer days and good times ahead.”

More About the Artist

Since childhood, Sarah has always been interested in art and mainly enchanted with painting and drawing. She attended Michigan State while studying interior design and graduated from CCAD (Columbus College of Art and Design) as a Fine Art major with an emphasis on print making, watercolor and acrylic painting. These days her medium of choice is acrylic. She enjoys how quickly she can work with it. She tends to paint fast as she doesn’t like to overthink her work – quick, loose interpretations of her subjects.
