Each season we experience new fashion trends effectively influencing how we dress throughout the season. It can be difficult to keep up with these trends or even figure out how to incorporate these accessories into everyday outfits. Luckily, we’ve documented some of our favorite runway jewelry trends for winter 2019.
Captivating twisted and geometric shaped earrings are a huge hit this winter. We absolutely adore the sterling silver dangle twist earrings photographed below. They have all the shimmer perfect for a fancy holiday party or for just an easy, elegant, everyday look. The movement and shine of these earrings truly make them stand out!
Multi Chain Necklaces
The layered look has been in style for awhile but this season, we are seeing not only different lengths and sizes but also mixed metals. Also seen on the runway, are charms of different styles and sizes hanging off these layered chains, adding an even heavier look. We really like this modified look on our sales associate and model in all yellow gold, especially against her cream sweater.
As a fan of the brooch (in particular, a one-of-a-kind vintage brooch), we are ecstatic to see all the over-sized and in-your-face brooches this season. A brooch can make any outfit pop and brighten up any cold day. We’re always an advocate of a large brooch on a winter coat. Pictured is a vintage wreath style white gold brooch in diamonds and pearls.
If you are wondering if pearls are in fashion, the answer is YES! And not just in the winter season but throughout the entire year we have consistently seen pearls dominate the runways. You will notice different lengths, sizes and shapes scattered on clothing and accessories. We featured a vintage multi-strand freshwater pearl necklace with gold and diamond clasp which lays elegantly on the collar bone.
With the weather colder and sleeves longer, it makes sense that chunky bracelets are trending this season. Layering bold bracelets over blouses and sweaters is once again a crowd pleaser. Featured is a vintage yellow gold paneled bracelet.
Opulent Matching Sets
These runway models are wearing crystal matching sets but also seen trending are colorful matching gemstone sets. Really, all over-sized jewelry is on-point. Why not add a splash of color like this gorgeous citrine combination?!Continue Reading

What’s the Buzz this Summer at Argo? The “B” Collection by Gumuchian
It’s arrived and just in time for the summer! Love at first sight, we fell head over heels for this exquisitely crafted bee inspired line by the high-end designer, Gumuchian. And of course, we couldn’t resist when we found that a portion of the sale goes back to the bees!
Being in the industry for years, we know fine jewelry when we see it. Gumuchian is just that. Their name has earned a well-established reputation in the diamond and jewelry industry due to their superior craftsmanship and spectacular design. Just holding a Gumuchian piece is a delight, you immediately notice the high quality the moment you interact with the jewelry.
This bee-inspired collection is available in 18 karat yellow, white and rose gold as well as platinum. Many of the shapes are hexagonal to reflect the bee’s hive. The way the diamonds contrast with the beautiful metals and the negative hex space is just striking! Below is just a sample of the rich and bold designs of the “B” collection. With October being breast cancer awareness month, we were overjoyed to have the talented local artist and cancer survivor, Abby Feinknopf, join us this quarter for Art at Argo’s. I was uplifted the first time I was introduced to her work. Abby, a survivor of breast cancer, turned to painting just after she was diagnosed. The act of making art every day and the power of bold, vibrant colors is what helped her through it. She now strives to encourage and empower others with her work. Her exhibit at Argo & Lehne is as cheerful and bright as her personality and positive outlook.
We introduce you to her Art at Argo’s Exhibit: “The Power of Color” July 29 – Oct 25. In addition, we will have an Art Opening on Thursday, August 15th from 5-7 pm. You will have an opportunity to meet Abby in person to discuss her work and her encouraging story of healing through art.Continue Reading
Oakland Nurseries, so much more than a horticulture nursery, offering wedding and event decor.
Oakland Nurseries; a family owned business that has been around for almost 80 years, has always been my “go to” plant store with one of the widest selections of plants. On the rare occasion that I’m unable to find what I’m looking for, they’ve always been more than willing to order it. I love the neighborhood feel and the customer service has always exceeded my expectations. I even had a sales associate reach out to me asking how I was enjoying the fountain I purchased. In my experience, this just doesn’t happen at every nursery.
I was aware that Oakland had services such as landscaping experts for commercial and residential spaces but didn’t realize that they have an Interiorscapes division that is dedicated to special events and custom décor. The Oakland Interiorscapes offers a wide selection of plant material for rent as well as many other green elements to make your wedding unique and magical. I can attest to their gorgeous designs, as I recently saw their work at the Garden Party Event at the Columbus Museum of Art. (more…)Continue Reading

Jewelry from Argo: ladies wedding band
Wedding Theme: Peacock
Venue: The Club at Corazon
“We were originally looking for a rustic barn type wedding. We went to several in one day and just threw the Club in as a wild card. I was so pleasantly surprised by them. Not only were they the most affordable of all the options, they had an AMAZING bridal suite, BEAUTIFUL grounds, and delicious food. They were professionals from start to finish and were available to answer any of my questions or concerns. I would 100% recommend them to any bride!”
2019 has been ringing in new and unique trends for the year! From unusual diamond cuts to mixed metals, you’re sure to make a statement with these pops of colors and Boho styles!
Fancy Diamond Cuts
Engagement rings with fancy diamond cuts have been trending with celebrities and social media. Popular diamonds that we have been seeing are Pears, Trillions, and Marquise. These diamonds make for a unique, one of a kind ring that stands out from all of your friends’ and family’s rings!
Lab-Grown diamonds have been on the rise, and more people are beginning to jump on their lower prices. Lab-grown diamonds are ethical, eco-conscious and do not require any mining. Everything about these lab-grown diamonds is real, the only difference is that they are grown in a lab, not mined. No one can tell the difference, because YES they are real diamonds! Have you always wanted that Two Carat diamond, but figured you could never afford it, ask about Lab Grown, you will be pleasantly surprised about what you can get for your money.
